Rita Friendly Kaufman Lecture
Richard William Hill, Killer Hares and Talking Apes, Sunday 21 October, 2 pm, Ellis Auditorium, Queen's UniversityRichard William Hill, independent curator and writer of Cree heritage, delivers this years Rita Friendly Kaufman Lecture. Mr. Hill's talk examines the uses -- by artists and in popular culture -- of symbolic inversion to generate social satire. From killer hares to talking apes and tricksters, turning the World Upside Down has been a favoured device of Western art since the late Middle Ages.

The Joy of Collecting for Queen's
Dr. Alfred Bader, Thursday 27 September, 2 pm, Ellis Auditorium, Queen's UniversityFor over four decades, Drs Alfred and Isabel Bader's generousity has enriched Art Centre collections, supported exhibition development and facilitated new research and its publication. In conjunction with the exhibition An Enduring Passion: The Bader Collection the Art Centre hosts Dr Alfred Bader's lecture entitled "The Joy of Collecting for Queen's."
