Revelations: European old masters in Kingston collections

The Bader Gallery
11 February - 19 August 2007

Beyond the Art Centre's walls, Kingston's homes and institutions contain works by Europe's Old Masters, though they are known to only a few. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity for the public to share in the enjoyment of these hidden treasures, while showcasing the proud collecting achievements of the Kingston community. Furthermore, in spanning several decades of acquisition activity, these works present a fascinating look at a lesser-known part of our local heritage, and evidence the motivations and methods at work in the market for European art.
